Time to get the band back together
Estranged bandmates reunite when the drummer throws himself an unexpected bachelor party.
Cheap beer, jam sessions, and a pool – what could go wrong? Between years of unspoken resentment, off-key vibes, and one member totally losing the plot, their final performance ends with one killer finale.
Directed by Joey Sawyer
writers club films
writers club films is an independent film collective founded in 2024 by Molly Costa, Joey Sawyer, Chris Bouchard, and Josh Cornell. the project is a true continuation from their weekly "writers club" meetings that started while studying Film/Media production at the University of Rhode Island.
After college, the group continued to make short films, music videos, and sketches in the Boston area. In 2024, Sawyer finished his first feature length screenplay, and then he immediately finished a second! Don't Make Friends is that movie. Shot over the summer of '24 in southern Rhode Island, over 14 days, DMF was made with a skeleton crew and almost all non-actors.
